APCO International Winter Summit a Huge Success!

Thank you to all who helped make the Winter Summit a quality forum for information exchange. We adjusted the format to focus on information technology challenges among public safety communications professionals, and the response was an overwhelming success.

The fifth annual event gathered industry leaders in public safety for insightful commentary and debate. Attendees were provided with the tools to maintain their organization’s information technology, including IP, multi-media, FMC, radio and more. For a complete review of the topics covered at the Winter Summit, click here.

The Winter Summit delivered the most current analysis of spectrum allocation, interoperable communications, emergency response and public/private partnerships.

Participants felt well-informed after a dynamic presentation about the national public safety broadband network from Chief Derek Poarch of the FCC’s Public Safety & Homeland Security Bureau.

In addition to discussing technology innovations in the classroom, attendees viewed product displays from our event sponsors, and swapped best practices during networking breaks.

Who attended?

Nearly 200 people participated in the Winter Summit, and the majority of those attendees were senior level decision-making executives. They represented agencies large and small, rural and urban, from across the country and the world. Agency chiefs, directors, manufacturers, and network managers came together for intense discussions and debate of the issues surrounding information technology for public safety communications.

Mark your calendars for the next major industry gathering, the APCO International Annual Conference, August 3-7 2008, in Kansas City, MO.
