APCO APPLAUDS FCC 800 MHz COST GUIDELINES

May 18, 2007, Washington, D.C. - The Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO) International today applauded the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) for the order, released today, to clarify the standard for determining the acceptability of costs that Sprint Nextel Corporation is required to pay in connection with the 800 MHz rebanding process.

"We applaud the FCC for this important ruling that should eliminate many of the disputes that are standing in the way of timely and efficient rebanding of 800 MHz public safety systems," APCO International President Wanda McCarley said.
