NEW!!! Public Safety Telecommunicator 1,
6th Edition, Basic Training Course

The first and only basic training course officially certified by APCO International as meeting and exceeding the APCO Project 33 Revised Minimum Training Standards for Public Safety Telecommunicators!!!

APCO Institute is proud to announce the release of its Public Safety Telecommunicator 1 (PST1), 6th Edition basic training course. The PST1, 6th Edition course is the result of the hard work and dedication of a special group of subject matter experts from the APCO International membership and the public safety communications industry at large. [press release]

Written by communications professionals for communications professionals, PST1, 6th Edition is the first and only basic training course certified by APCO International as meeting and exceeding the APCO Project 33 Revised Minimum Training Standards for Public Safety Telecommunicators (2004). Each course manual contains a gold seal designating the course as APCO Project 33 certified as well as a certificate of APCO Project 33 compliance from the APCO International Board of Officers.

The PST1, 6th Edition student course is vastly different from the previous edition. It blends the knowledge and skill-building information needed for a basic telecommunicator with the most up-to-date information on the technology and issues surrounding today's public safety communications center. The PST1, 6th Edition Instructor's Guide Package includes instructional techniques for trainers, lesson plans, the student text, a PowerPoint presentation, recordings of actual emergency calls for service, games and puzzles, drill and practice exercises, role-play exercises and training tips and guidelines. Descriptions of the student and instructor courses are on our Training Courses page.
