On August 31, 2000, APCO Institute and Jacksonville State University partnered to establish the APCO Virtual College (AVC). The APCO Virtual College is the world's first online degree program for public safety telecommunicators and offers an Associate Degree in Public Safety Telecommunications, a Bachelor of Science Degree in Emergency Management (with a minor in Public Safety Telecommunications) and even a Master of Public Administration Degree with a concentration in Emergency Management. The APCO Virtual College offers today's busy public safety telecommunicator the opportunity to advance in their chosen careers without leaving their home or office.
