This dinner honored our industry's most valuable contributors, bringing together policy leaders within the public safety communications community to honor those who have actively served to create, advocate and promote public safety communications policy.
A portion of the net proceeds of the event are for the benefit of the Public Safety Foundation of America, which is a wholly-owned qualified 501(c)(3) charitable subsidiary of APCO International, Inc., as defined by the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 and exempt from taxation under section 501(a) of such Code. Since its inception in 2002, the PSFA has donated more than $13 million to over 250 public safety agencies across the country to assist in the deployment of Enhanced 9-1-1 and more than 200 telecommunicators for disaster relief from Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. The PSFA is now well poised to move into its next and continual phase of grant making as an operating foundation dedicated to supporting public and nonprofit public safety communications efforts.
